It’s so nice, to come together… to get together.” - The O-Jays. The time is near to celebrate our deep Armstrong roots with our family members’ where our ancestors are traced back nine (9) generations (mid 1700’s) to the Pender & New Hanover County area of North Carolina. Our Armstrong (Mulatto) Family has long, long histories connected with Pender County in the Rocky Point, Lincoln, Lillington  and Long Creek communities, were our ancestors were big landowners, (see Pender Count Register of Deeds), had large families, did exceptionally well, were prominent in civil life, well educated and just good, honest people. Miles Armstrong, Sr. (1833-1916), was the 1st Negro Commissioner elected to the Pender County Board of Education during the Reconstruction he served from 1876 to 1879. Miles Armstrong, Sr.’s great-granddaughter Beulah Armstrong, a resident of Wilmington, North Carolina and is our eldest living family member, born, August 16th, 1913.
